End User License Agreement
This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you and the ClueGrid team (“Licensor”) and covers the ClueGrid app (the “App”) for iPhone and Android. By installing or using the App you agree to it. Last updated: 2 November 2026.
1. License
Licensor grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial entertainment. On Apple devices, this is limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
2. Restrictions
You may not copy, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App except where the law expressly allows it; rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the App; remove notices of ownership; use the App to build a competing product; or use bots, scripts or modified versions of the App.
3. Ownership
The App, its puzzles, clues, pictures, sounds and code are licensed, not sold. Licensor and its licensors keep all rights not expressly granted. Picture clues use Noto Emoji under the Apache License 2.0; the fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License.
4. In-app purchases and virtual items
Coins and other virtual items are licensed for use in the App only, have no cash value and are not your property. They are governed by the Terms of Service.
5. Updates and data
Licensor may provide updates, which may be required to keep using the App. The App connects to Licensor’s servers to save progress, show leaderboards and check purchases. How your data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Acknowledgement
You and Licensor acknowledge that this Agreement is concluded between you and Licensor only, and not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Licensor, not Apple or Google, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
7. Maintenance and support
Licensor is solely responsible for any maintenance and support of the App, as described in this Agreement or required by law. Apple and Google have no obligation whatsoever to provide maintenance or support for the App. For support, contact privacy@playcluegrid.app.
8. Warranty
To the extent the law allows, the App is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind. If the App fails to conform to any warranty that applies by law, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are Licensor’s responsibility, as far as the law places them on Licensor.
9. Product claims
Licensor, not Apple or Google, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
10. Intellectual property claims
If a third party claims that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that party’s intellectual property rights, Licensor, not Apple or Google, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
11. Legal compliance
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
12. Third-party terms
You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App, such as the terms of your mobile network, the App Store and Google Play.
13. Third-party beneficiary
You and Licensor acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement, and that, upon your acceptance of this Agreement, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this Agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Licensor is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App, and its total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App and in-app purchases in the 12 months before the claim. Mandatory consumer rights are not affected.
15. Termination
This Agreement applies until ended by you or Licensor. It ends automatically if you break it. You can end it by deleting the App and your account. On termination you must stop using the App.
16. Law
This Agreement is governed by the same law as the Terms of Service, without taking away the protection of mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
